Give Yourself A Lift

Mobility issues do not have to keep you living downstairs in your own home. Give yourself a lift and make traveling the stairs safe and easy. A regular seat belt is a standard safety feature on all stair lifts. Some now offer a seat belt that is attached to the end of the arm rather than lower in the seat by the hip. That may be helpful if reaching for the seat belt is difficult for you. Obstruction sensors will stop the lift if anything is in the way. A swivel seat can be locked in place while you get on or off.

You can get a straight lift or a custom curved lift if your staircase has a landing or curves. A staircase that is at least 32 inches wide can accommodate a Maine stairlifts. The lift is bolted to the stairs, not the rails for safety and stability. A curved lift is custom designed and digitally configured using a camera and high tech measuring software. It is recommended you get a custom made rail system for a curved lift to get the angles right. The average weight limits for chairs range from 300-400 pounds, depending on the model. Lifts can be battery operated or plugged into any electrical outlet. The electric one will not operate if the power goes out, so keep that in mind when choosing a lift.
